Stone Clouds There are craftsmen    who before the dawn Cut the clouds from stone.    Send them scudding        across the sky. Delicate filigree do they make    from the roofs of great caverns. We dream no more    for the clouds are made of stone. -1979 Sight of You Your face    I say it is the dawn breaking     &nbsplight shining across the earth. But words will not carry   will not show the form of a tree      reaching to the light-- You standing   in the window      framed by the light. Am I growing old? Stones crumble   the wind brushes your hair aside-- the touch of time. You, looking for the sun   discover clouds. -1979

Love

Here is love there sadness Here small scattered sheep wander there the universe entire Find your way    find your way Love it is blood and roots    tangled in the earth not light    nothing of light    nothing of light but burrowing down I am in the midst of someone else's dream Words which echo are not my thoughts but someone else's Distant unknown person motives unguessed
When you fall through empty space alone be sure to take the shortest route close by the sun white hot It will not follow neither you nor her but pursues other entertainments lets you spin in perfect orbits meeting nothing while it pursues its calculation of a center of mass nowhere near you
